For undrafted guard Maalik Wayns, the NBA Orlando Summer League is a great opportunity to impress the NBA scouts. Wayns got off to a good start today in his debut, as he scored 11 points and dished out 10 assists for the Orlando Magic in a 92-88 win over the Brooklyn Nets. He started the game, played 28 mins, shot 2-7 from the field and 7-9 from the line, while also committing 3 turnovers and notching 4 steals.
Although Maalik did not shoot well from the field, he got his teammates involved and got to the line, two crucial skills of being a point guard. The Magic will continue their summer league schedule with a contest against the Detroit Pistons at 3 PM tomorrow, July 10th.
